Big Shot Birthday. Syringe Cake

This cake was an idea from the wife of my Bishop. He is diabetic and "shoots up" on insulin. So she thought it would be fun to have a syringe birthday cake. The syringe's main body is made up of 3- 6 inch circle cake that I cut in half. The plunger, I just frosted over styrofoam. The head is just a cupcake cut in half. Then used a large sucker stick as the needle.

Mad Scientist

A Mad Scientist cake idea cam from the 1999 Wilton yearbook (pg. 18). I ended up using the 1978 Astronaut cake pan instead of what Wilton had suggested. It worked out just fine though. The test tube that he is holding is  one of the plastic floral tubes.
